The Affordable Housing Demonstration – Case Studies: Blaine, Minnesota; Boise, Idaho; Broward County (Coral Springs), Florida; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
HUD launched the Affordable Housing Demonstration at 20 sites across the country in 1982, in response to the rising unaffordability of homeownership. Each site took the form of a subdivision, built without Federal subsidy by a local developer. This historic publication documents the construction of four such subdivisions, the cost-saving measures undertaken by each developer, and the resulting savings per-unit.
