A variety of information is available on the Internet concerning the promotion and creation of affordable housing in rural areas of the United States. USDA Rural Housing Service works with public and nonprofit organizations to offer housing to people in rural areas. The service also works to ensure funding for developers, individuals, and families. The site describes available programs and regulations, and includes important USDA FAQs and external links to rural housing-related sites. The Housing Assistance Council is a national nonprofit corporation working to help low-income people in rural areas afford housing by providing financing programs, technical assistance, and training to local organizations. It also publishes HAC News, Rural Voices, and various research reports. The National Rural Housing Coalition advocates affordable housing for low-income rural residents by designing programs to meet their needs and ensuring adequate funding for these programs.
