High School Graduation Rate

High School Graduation Rate is the percentage of students in each Minneapolis Public High School who graduated in four years with a high school diploma. Graduation rates in Minneapolis are available by school, and there are nine Minneapolis Public High Schools. Each Minneapolis Public High School was assigned to the neighborhood where it is physically located therefore, nine neighborhoods have graduation rates. These high school graduation rates do not include Minneapolis teens who attended charter or private schools, or schools outside the Minneapolis Public Schools district. Data is from the Minnesota Education Report Card

High school graduation rates are linked to several factors related to health outcomes. Students who graduate are less likely to engage in unhealthy behavior such as drug and alcohol abuse, have a teenage pregnancy, or participate in criminal activity. Dropping out of school before obtaining a high school diploma is related to poverty and poor health. High School Graduation Rate is in the Educational Opportunities domain.
