The HUD Headquarters building, constructed in 1965, needs modernization of its energy and information systems. The Office of Innovation evaluated an innovative solution using private sector funding.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the National Association of Home Builders cohosted the inaugural Innovative Housing Showcase on June 1-5, 2019 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

STANDARDIZE PAPERWORK REDUCTION ACT (PRA) PACKAGE SUBMISSION

The Office of Innovation and representatives of the Chief Information Technology Officer and the Office of Policy Development and Research collaborated on creating a standardized format for drafting PRA submission packages.

OUTCOMES

The effort has been suspended pending designation of a permanent Chief Data Officer and support staff.

STANDARDIZE ENVISION CENTER QUARTERLY REPORTS

The Office of Innovation and Office of Field Policy and Management collaborated on creating a standardized format for reporting quarterly reports by EnVision Centers. This was a year-long project in 2020.

OUTCOMES

This collaboration resulted in a streamline and efficient way of reporting quarterly reports on the EnVision Center website.

The Office of Innovation and Office of Field Policy and Management hosted an EnVision Center Showcase on August 1st, 2019 for our Interagency Working Group (IAWG).

OUTCOMES

Increased participation of federal agency partners in types of services provided in EnVision Centers.
