City Plans for Mixed-Use Development in Colony Park
The KUT-FM Austin, TX (1/6, Aguilar) reports on its website, "The City of Austin received a $3 million grant from HUD to develop a 208-acre piece of land in the Colony Park neighborhood, east of US 183." The funding "came from the Office of Sustainable Housing Communities to help improve economic development in this part of East Austin by building job centers, retail and connecting housing and schools with transportation." The city hopes to attract some businesses, and a certain number of homes will be reserved for affordable housing.
