
Port Gamble S'Klallam Receives $900,000 Grant for Affordable Housing
The Kingston Community News (2/22) reports that HUD "on Tuesday announced $892,230 in Indian Housing Block Grant funds to the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe to support its efforts to meet the Tribe's affordable housing needs. Earlier this month, HUD awarded $33.4 million in Indian Housing Block Grant funds to 25 other tribes in Washington state." Commenting on the grants, HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan said, "These funds are making a real difference in tribal communities each and every day."
