Group Says It Will Continue Violating Homeless Feeding Ban

On its website, WFTV-TV Orlando (4/14) reports a city ordinance passed in Orlando says groups need permits to serve food to homeless people in parks, and are limited to two permits a year. The group “Food Not Bombs” says it “knows it’s breaking the law by giving the homeless food Wednesday evening without a permit, but it doesn’t care” and will take its case to the Supreme Court if it must. Once Orlando “starts enforcing the ordinance” individuals who violate it “could be fined $500 or spend two months in jail.”
