Homeless Outreach Gaining Ground in Costa Mesa
The Orange County (CA) Register (6/13) reports, "With no funding of its own, the city's Homeless Task Force in the past year has worked with the police, county agencies, and nonprofit and local faith groups to find short-term housing options for the homeless." During "Tuesday's City Council study session, the task force will ask the Housing Authority to consider setting aside funds that would be returned to the federal government if not used, in order to finance a long-term housing strategy." The group was created in January of 2011 to help address homeless issues.
