L.A.'s historic Dunbar Hotel to welcome new, permanent guests
The Los Angeles Times (7/9, Vincent, 629K) reports that "a $14-million project is underway to renovate the famed" Dunbar Hotel "and two subsidized housing apartment buildings that bookend the Dunbar on Central Avenue at 42nd Place. All three properties will be part of an 83-unit residential and retail project called Dunbar Village, with the hotel itself reserved for seniors." The Housing Authority of the city of Los Angeles will fund 30% of the costs. Renovations should be completed by February 2013.
