Tax Credits Best Way to Fund Renovations, Housing Authority CEO Says

The Columbia (MO) Daily Tribune (7/31) reports, "To help finance renovations of its public housing stock, the Columbia Housing Authority has proposed to take part in a state low-income housing tax credit system that would allow private investors to partially own the revitalized structures." The authority "is proposing to renovate most of its downtown-based housing, starting with its townhomes at Lincoln and Unity drives." Notably, CHA has cited the need for renovations, and residents have complained about the state of many units.
