Paquin to Showcase Energy-efficiency Upgrades

The Columbia (MO) Daily Tribune (10/2, 20K) reports, "When Paquin Tower was completed in 1973, energy efficiency was not foremost on the mind of builders, said Phil Steinhaus, CEO of the Columbia Housing Authority. The 200 units at Paquin Tower, a CHA high-rise for people who are disabled or elderly, were heated through a boiler system, and residents had little control over the temperature of their rooms." The authority has been making energy-efficient renovations to the building for the past three years. Funds for the project were provided by HUD. The piece adds, "The housing authority is highlighting the improvements and renovations at an open house scheduled to be held at Paquin Tower from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 10."
