Mike Miles Addresses Advocates about DISD's Programs for Homeless Students
Christina Rosales writes in the Dallas Morning News (10/5, 428K) "The Scoop Blog" that on Thursday, "Dallas ISD Superintendent Mike Miles and homeless advocates met...to discuss the issues facing the school district's 3,300 homeless students." The piece adds, "The school district's director of psychological and social services, Connie Wilson, said students who are homeless have problems with anxiety and depression that affect their overall health." Some schools hire psychologists "to help students and families cope with these issues, as well as get connected to other services in the area that they can use to end their homeless plight."
