On June 29, 2005, HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson announced 14 winners of the first annual Robert L. Woodson Jr. Award. Named in honor of the former Department Chief of Staff, HUD is making this award to recognize communities that have taken on a leadership role in the effort to increase access to affordable housing for American families through regulatory reform.
