The papers should deal with innovative approaches to the building regulatory process in the United States--including approaches that have not been implemented or are being researched--and should describe how the innovation would correct shortcomings in the present system.
Conference organizers have selected six topics for presentation papers:
To be considered as a presenter, submit an abstract of no more than 250 words to NCSBCS by May 15, 1995. All submitters will be notified by May 31 if their papers are selected; complete technical papers will be due at NCSBCS by September 30, 1995. Presenters are invited to attend the 2-day technical research conference at no charge. In the winter of 1995--96, the conference proceedings will be published and forwarded to Federal, State, and local governments for their consideration.
Abstracts should be mailed to Ann Holland at the National Conference of States on Building Codes and Standards, Inc., 505 Huntmar Park Drive, Suite 210, Herndon, VA 22070, or faxed to her attention at (703) 481-3596. For more information, contact Ms. Holland at (703) 437-0100.
