Cisneros Announces Winners of National Excellence Awards for Habitat II

In support of this conference and to focus attention on the inherent strengths in our communities, the United States National Preparatory Committee (NPC) for Habitat II has sponsored the National Excellence Awards for the City Summit. On February 12, HUD Secretary Henry G. Cisneros announced the following 25 winners. According to Cisneros, "Each winner displayed the kind of innovation and commitment that America must have if we are going to solve our most pressing urban challenges."
